An online stakeholder workshop was held on 7th February 2023 by the Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) in partnership with the Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs, Provincial Councils and Local Government under the project titled Regulating Plastic Waste in Sri Lanka implemented by PILF under USAID’s Clean Cities, Blue Ocean Program.

The objective of the workshop was to present the draft Report on Law Review and Proposals for Strengthening Local Authority Management of Plastic Waste. The proposals for law reforms to strengthen plastic waste management by Local Authorities were prepared by the said Ministry together with PILF. The draft Report is being further developed in discussion with relevant stakeholders. This workshop was held for the Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners of Local Government.
